Arrow is back for what the trailer dubs an “epic” third season. Considering how crazy S2 was, we wouldn’t doubt the show’s creators ability for replicating their success. Last season we also saw the origin of The Flash via a few cameo appearances. We all know this year he will have his own show debuting in fall, and there will be a crossover episode on Arrow.
Arrow will join The Flash, Gotham, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for tons of Marvel/DC action this fall on TV. Arrow’s new season will premiere on October 8th.
Video: The Walking Dead Season 5 Comic-Con Trailer
Our love for Comic-Con has been reaffirmed with plenty of awesome reveals and news for some of our favorite shows, movies, and games. Among those reveals has been Season 5 of one of TV’s most-watched shows The Walking Dead, with a new trailer debut generating massive hype over the past 24 hours.
The live-action TV series based on Halo still lives, even though Microsoft recently shut down their Xbox Entertainment Studios division.
They now offer the first look at Halo: Nightfall, which takes place between Halo 4 and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. The show will introduce us to new characters such as Jameson Locke, who’s a "legendary manhunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), Earth’s most powerful and secretive military branch."
Be sure to keep tabs on it until its premiere in November.
In case you’ve been missing out, Starz premiered their new show Power a couple weeks ago. It’s a prototypical tale of a drug kingpin named Ghost (Omari Hardwick) looking for a way out of the game with the opening of his new nightclub. Of course, things don’t ever end up so simple in these kind of stories. Also, his co-kingpin in crime Tommy (Joseph Sikora) looks a lot like Eminem, and that might not be a coincidence considering 50 Cent is an executive producer on the show, which you could easily tell from his music being littered across the soundtrack and his impending cameo.
This is the full first episode, clocked in at 58 minutes.and uncut. All the sex, nudity and violence is intact so soak it all in.
This is the year of superheroes, with more new movies and TV shows than I can think of in recent memory. The CW is about to unleash The Flash this fall after having his origin depicted in an episode of Arrow months back.
This has been a pretty amazing year for TV so far, and it only gets better as the Summer and Fall seasons approach. One of the key new shows will be Gotham, and if the name didn’t already raise your antennas, then yes, it is indeed based on the famed city that Batman prowls. But this isn’t a Batman show; rather it’s about Jim Gordon and his early days as a detective. The young pre-villain versions of famed Batman villains will make appearances, so there’s that as well.
Video: New HBO Series ‘The Leftovers’ (Trailer #1)
HBO is preparing to go through a transition, with shows like True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, and The Newsroom all ending their runs after their upcoming seasons. The network is going to be wide open for a new hit to come along and carry them (besides True Detective) and perhaps this could be one of them.
Admittedly, the trailer is pretty ambiguous and it’s difficult to get a sense of what the show is really about. Even the name doesn’t really put things into perspective at all. In any case, we’ll know more from trailers and interviews as we inch closer to its premiere on June 29th.
HBO up’d the first episode to their brand new show Silicon Valley on Youtube. It’s heavily edited from the original content that premiered on April 6th, but you’ll get an idea of what it’s about.
For non-watchers: Silicon Valley is a new Sunday-night comedy from Beavis & Butthead creator Mike Judge, Millennials are no strangers to this tech-savvy world we live in and the endless river of startup companies trying to get on the map with their app ideas. The show definitely has potential.
Worth noting that Amazon Instant Video has an original TV show called Betas that’s pretty much the same idea, and we all know about Big Bang Theory. Nerd-centric shows like these are definitely the current wave.
Video: Boondocks Season 4 Promo (“Boondocks is Back”)
Despite the slippage from the initial January time frame, Season 4 is about to kick off next month on April 21st. It’s kinda crazy, but you could make a game out of figuring out how much has changed in the world since the last episode premiered on August 15th 2010.
