Video: Trey Songz “Change Your Mind”

Director Amil Barnes provides the perfect picture of all the summer rooftop parties that will be going down as the season rolls along.  Trey’s new album Trigga is set to drop on July 1st, and if you pre-order it on iTunes you’ll instantly get this song as a bonus along with 4 others).

Video: Common “Kingdom” (feat. Vince Staples)

Very few rappers can say they’re about 20 years deep in the game, but Common happens to be one of those artists.  His tenth album, Nobody Smiling, is due out on July 22nd.  Kanye West and No I.D. have been linked to the project for awhile now, and it’ll feature a slew of upcoming artists from the Chi.

The single is available now on iTunes and Google Play.

Mixtape: Gangsta Grillz Presents XXL Freshmen 2014 Special Edition

XXL has taken their annual Freshmen list to new heights with mixtapes and tours.  Considering recent covers have featured then-rising stars Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar and Iggy Azalea, folks have definitely been using the yearly issue as a resource to find out who’s on the rise.

The mixtape for the 2014 class features some already notable names, but many are new to me.  This should be a good opportunity to see who’s on the rise in 2014/2015 and beyond.

Video: PSY “Hangover” (feat. Snoop Dogg)

Has it really been nearly two years since “Gangnam Style” took over the world?  Time definitely flies.

Time will also tell if this new single from PSY will be another summer hit, but one thing is certain: Snoop is about to cash out from those Youtube views.

The song is available now on iTunes and Google Play.

Iggy Azalea covers Billboard

Gotta give Iggy props on this one.  We spotted her wave back in 2011 right before she dropped her Ignorant Art mixtape, and it’s been cool to see her rise to a #1 hit on the charts with Fancy.

Peep her new interview with Billboard.

Video: Dizzy Wright “Reunite For The Night”

Something to get you in the mood for eventual Summer house parties and activities.  This mellow joint is off of his new EP, State of Mind.  Check it out on iTunes or Google Play.

Directed by Matt Alonzo.

Video: Dex Kwasi “Africa (Trappin’)” feat. Wanlov

OKC’s own Dex Kwasi has evolved a bit over the past few years.  Semi-name change and a larger emphasis on his heritage aside, his beat selection remains as dope as ever.

This is one of the more turnt up tracks on his new album, A.$.S. (African Sex Symbol).  Be sure to peep it on iTunes.

Video: Eminem “Headlights” (feat. Nate Ruess)

Two noteworthy things: it was directed by Spike Lee, and Marshall’s mom makes an appearance in it.  Who saw that coming?

Video: Pharrell Williams “Marilyn Monroe”

Pharrell’s latest single has been picking up steam following the domination by “Happy” on the charts.  One thing is for sure: you really can’t go wrong with the amount of sexy chicks stretching and dancing, which is pretty much the theme of the album. The song itself is pretty catchy.

G I R L is available now on iTunes and Google Play.
