Inside Supreme: Anatomy of Global Streetwear Cult

I stumbled upon this article on the Business Of Fashion site and immediately I was determined on reading it. Not for the fact that it’s about Supreme yet at the same time, I read it because it was about Supreme. This article gives you an overview on the brand which was created by James Jebbia in 1994, and how the brand has become the holy grail of urban streetwear. The fact of the matter is Supreme pretty much runs the streetwear game, accept it or not. I recommend this article to artists and entrepreneurs alike who want to step into the realm of streetwear fashion not only as a guide but to scout your competition. 

From my perspective Supreme has definitely calculated the right formula for success, reaching out to the youth of the generation, staying a step ahead of the competition, never being repetitive and making sure to always know the angle of marketing your brand.

The North Face x Supreme “Nuptse Down Jacket & Rolling Thunder Bag” - Winter is coming and it’s time to gear up.  Supreme along with The North Face are holding you down.  The Nuptse Down Jacket features printed water resistant nylon shell, mini ripstop weave with 700 Goose Down Fill as for the Rolling Thunder Bag features printed shell and a large main compartment with internal compression straps and top zip mesh pocket.  Both are available in 3 colorways and will be dropping on November 25th in Supreme’s NY, LA & London stores. Nov. 26th in Japan.

New Shirts From Supreme - This week Supreme will drop 5 new shirts, two in collaboration with artist and film director David Lynch.  The collection will feature a tee that has a still shot from David’s film Blue Velvet, and another tee that has an original drawing from David.  One of the other tees features film director Harmony Korine.  All will be available in Supreme stores and online on Oct 27th and in Japan on Oct 29th.

Clarks x Supreme Desert Mali Boot - Clarks teams up with Supreme to release a new style fresh for Fall 2011.  The boot features genuine leather and a nubuck suede upper, as well as a leather in-sole.  Look for this in Supreme’s stores and online starting Oct 20th, and in Japan on Oct 22nd.

Harmony Korine x Supreme Decks - Accomplished writer, director, filmmaker, and artist Harmony Korine teams up with Supreme for a set of skateboard decks featuring original artwork done by Harmony.  The decks go on sale online and in Supreme NY, LA and London stores on Oct 6th, while Japan will get them on Oct 8th. Vans x Supreme The Sk8-Hi and The Era - Supreme will be releasing two styles of Vans, each coming in 3 colorways and featuring printed canvas, waffle outsoles, premium suede uppers and leather in-soles.  Look for these at Supreme stores and online Sept 29th and in Japan starting Oct 1st.
