Motorola Says ‘Jelly Bean’ Will Come To Their 2011 Phones

In a surprising development for owners of Motorola phones, the company revealed at a press conference in New York that it aims to offer upgrades for most of their 2011 smartphones to the latest Android OS, Android 4.1 (aka Jelly Bean).  The move of course is met with a ton of skepticism as most Moto phones are still without Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).  Still, its good news for those that aren’t in the mood to rush out and buy any of the newer phones with ICS and HD screens.

At the event, Motorola also stated that if your phone somehow can’t be given an upgrade to Jelly Bean, it will offer $100 credit towards one of the newer Motorla phones that can (or will) be upgraded.

Motorola now has a website up for people to register and receive updates on whether Jelly Bean is coming to their phone or instructions on how to receive your $100 credit.  Click here to visit.
